Treating military/veterans effectively with EMDR therapy: What EMDR therapists need to know treating this special population

Description

There is a growing need for EMDR therapists to effectively treat military and veteran populations. This full-day workshop provides essential information for treating this special population including basic understanding of military-related coping mechanisms, addressing the full trauma spectrum including combat and military sexual trauma, treating complex trauma with the eight phase approach, moral injury and other unique treatment issues, and developing a referral network. Dr. Hurley, as Chair of the EMDRIA Veterans’ Task Force will present joining the EMDRIA therapists’ network for treating veterans as well as professional resources available for EMDRIA members who participate in the EMDRIA veterans’ network.
