From 1:1 to 1: More than one (group EMDR)
Description
While EMDR has been most commonly evaluated and applied as individual therapy, this modality of intervention delivery might not represent the most cost- and time-effective approach as the demand for mental health services is rapidly increasing, outstripping the resources of mental health providers around the world. The workforce shortages in mental health are affecting staff workload, wellbeing and the ability for staff to provide good quality of care. Group therapies are one way to increase the capacity to provide more time-effective care to people in need. Our goal is to introduce more EMDR therapists to this form of EMDR. The presentation will have comprehensive content with a wide range of protocols and the application of Group EMDR to different populations. This will give a good presentation and guidance for clinicians on how they can take the information from the talk to their practice.
